Commercials

I have noticed recently that there have been a recent incline in commercials advertising medications for Fibromyalgia.

I am going to get a lot of flack for this, so I am going to state right away, medication does work for some, and if it works for you I am so happy that you found something that makes your life easier.

The two main commercials I have been watching are for Lyrica, and Cymbalta, two I have tried and have been unsuccessful.  These commercials remind me of an infomercial.  You have the person leading the perfect life, doing things that without the medication would be absolutely impossible.  Then in a low tone, with the speed of an auctioneer, you hear the side effects and who should not use it, while the person is walking with the sun shining, or chasing after children, or working and living a normal life.

If only it was this easy!

You might as well have Mr. T do the commercials.

Pop this pill and your life will return to normal, just ignore the nausea, the dizziness, the vertigo, the weight gain, heart racing, shakes, insomnia or excess tiredness, and you will be as good as new.

Its scary when they are using the same tactics for meds as they do for selling cars, beer, food or any other material item.

  2. I have never tried those meds but I do get some relief from Nuerotin and Ultram.. I also have Gastroparesis and GERD and acid reflux so i am on 4 different kinds of meds for that and constant vertigo so i take meclize 9 of them a day.. I have alot of other illnesses but I wont go into them which all compromise my fibro in some way.. I have found that my meds are not working as well as they used to and I am at a strong dosage.. we have changed our diet and lifestyle but because of my other illnesses and my boyfriends illnesses there is only so much we can do with our diets..
much luck to you to finding some relief..

  3. I do understand how you feel. My fight with fibro started back in 1992 I was living in Ut. It was not till 9 years ago I found a Dr. willing to work with me investigating what might help with the pain, fibro fog, and the chronic fatigue. Now I lived in S.C. Somethings worked, others did not. I just felt like that I was never going to get any control of my life again. It seemed like my life was all about meds. Then a month ago a fellow employee gave me something that has given me my life back. Power Strips and Solar Strips. My pain went from a 10 down to a 3. I am now working on getting off my meds. Go to www.jgcjtk.fgxpress and check it out. If you want to learn more and would like a free sample just leave me a message. If you are on face book I can invite you to Tribe Talk and you can learn so much more and ask any questions you may have. I have tried everything and I was not going to get on narcotics for the pain. Adding this to my eating the right foods and walking I am feeling better then I did when I was in my twenties. So go check it out.
